Located at the corner of Lorain Avenue & West 83rd Street, this library first opened on Thursday,
March 28, 1912. The original architect of the Lorain branch of the Cleveland Public Libraries
was Knox & Elliot. The building has only been renovated once since then, in 1985. The renovation
architect was Blunden Barclay. The total square footage of this building is 8,400, which
allows plenty of room for this building to house a large meeting room, a colorful children's
reading area, and a computer center in addition to numerous books for a diverse array of
tastes and styles.
